So, the lower and higher numbers are more dramatic for each of these encounters. This means the lower and higher numbers have much lower chances of getting rolled while the middle spread should be fairly common. I made each list using 3d6 as the base randomization. Whether you’re looking for random encounters or just inspiration for your game, I’ve put together four separate lists each for the different Tiers of Play in D&D 5e. If you’re Dungeons & Dragons game takes your players to a desert location, you might want some ideas for encounters to challenge or help them.
